Do you have any missing teeth? If so, do you wonder what restoration could be best for your smile? If you are missing a few consecutive teeth, a dental bridge or dentures could be the best option for you. While some people confuse the two, there is a significant difference: a bridge is a permanent fixture while dentures can be removed. However, our dentist, Dr. Dido Kim will probably not recommend dentures if you are missing more than three consecutive teeth.
Still, a bridge could be your best option. Typically, bridges are made from metal and other materials that are shaped to match the color, tone, and shape of your smile. Even better, once your bridge has been placed, you’ll be able to chew, eat, and speak comfortably once again.
Also, if you are concerned about the effort it will take to keep your bridge healthy, we have good news for you. If you do what you should for your teeth, you’ve already done everything you’ll have to do for a bridge. This means you’ll just need to brush twice a day, floss, and go to your dentist for a routine cleaning once every six months.
Finally, if you are missing teeth, we recommend getting a restoration as soon as possible. If you don’t, it will be more difficult to keep your smile as clean as it could be, which could lead to gum disease, bad breath, and potentially, shifting teeth.
